Systems Administrator 1 (16214) Description
On-call hours are required with this position.
This System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning and support of the Agency infrastructure core applications and systems. Job activities will include daily operational support, installations, coordination, and maintenance of our Agency systems, software and related infrastructure components.
The System Administrator will seek to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of applications he or she manages meet the needs of the users and ensure that Agency compliance is met. This Administrator will have an integral liaison role in working with the Department of Administration (DOA), Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) infrastructure teams to maintain system integrity in the administration of servers, provisioning of file services, data backup and recovery. The System Administrator will also be required to maintain an inventory of Agency servers, backup policies, installed applications, and end user program access or use.
The Candidate should have advanced level knowledge of core Microsoft technologies. These include but not limited to: Active Directory Domain Services, DHCP, DNS, Group Policies, Distributed Files services and security, Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM), certificate creation and renewal, and numerous Windows Operating systems. Knowledge of VMware and PowerShell scripting a plus. Experience with Microsoft Azure services and support, ad knowledge of two factor authentication with Vasco/Onespan Digipass or HID Smart Cards, also a plus in hiring considerations. The candidate will be a primary technical contact for agency managed application servers and collaborate with our vendor partners to provide Agency level applications and services. The candidate will follow industry standard best practices and methodologies and provide knowledge transfer to other staff through both direct and indirect communication.
The candidate should have experience creating technical documentation, policies, and procedures.
