Sundial Software is currently seeking a talented Software Development Engineer/Lead for a lead/manager opportunity. Our client is currently looking for a talented lead programmer to help them continue their double-digit growth.  They currently have quite a few new features planned as well as future new site development plans. It's a fun and exciting opportunity where you will be constantly challenged to push the limits of e-commerce.

The successful individual will need to be a creative thinker, detail-oriented, confident and able to express ideas and concepts to other team members in an articulate, well thought-out manner. The only constant in this business is change so a willingness to be flexible is also needed. This role will be responsible for leading a team of six other talented programmers with a team that is still growing.

We are looking for a talented individual who will need to be an excellent communicator both with programmers as well as non-technical team members. The successful candidate will have previously led a team of developers for three or more years and have a proven track record of success.

This is a direct hire full-time, salaried position with benefits.


  • Minimum of 4-year degree in computer science, information systems or related field OR equivalent experience


  • 3+ years experience in web development

  • 3+ years experience working with PHP

  • Experience with PHP 7.0

  • 3+ years of leading a development team


  • Solid understanding of LEMP(Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP) environments

  • Object-oriented programming

  • Comfortable with a Linux development environment

  • PHP Frameworks, preferably Symfony2

  • Distributed Version Control System, preferably Git

  • PHPUnit and writing testable code

  • Preferred, but not required:

  • Working with a virtualized development environment

  • Interacting with 3rd party APIs (XML / Web Services, SOAP, REST, etc.)

  • Design patterns
