Lead Advisor UC&M Trainer

Avangrid is seeking a Lead Advisor UC&M Trainer to join their team in their Johnson City, NY location.

Designs, develops and facilitates the NYSEG/RGE UC&M (utility construction and maintenance) technical training program for Networks Training. This role will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the UC&M training program in accordance with each collective bargaining agreement. Works in tandem with peers in electric training as well as substation operations to facilitate exceptional training for apprentices. Conducts ongoing analysis of the UC&M training program to provide additional advanced training for incumbent operations staff.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Identifies, develops, implements and conducts advanced technical training for applicable incumbents that will address the future needs of the corporation.
  2. Provide feedback to Technical Training/Substation Operations with suggested enhancements or modifications to Training Materials.
  3. Working knowledge of Avangrid Operation and Maintenance Procedures, and Construction Standards.
  4. Provides consultation and support to applicable department/employees by analyzing training needs and developing programs and reports that will assist with strategic decision making.
  5. Communicate class training and testing results to Substation Operation Management.
  6. Assist HR/Substation Training with course delivery and development to ensure program alignment with desired skills.
  7. Drive innovation of training as it relates to Substation technical training materials and technologies.
  8. Safely and proficiently work in a team setting maintaining an emphasis on learner engagement and the establishment/maintenance of maintaining a qualified workforce.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or High School/GED with the completion of the relevant progression program and 10 years relevant experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of specific operating departments and respective field tasks, training techniques, program development and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Knowledge of industrial, technical or adult education, program development and administration, engineering and/or construction principles and techniques, and work management.
  • Experience working in a formal management system.
