A key role in the Corporate Date & Analytics (CD&A) organization, the Senior Data Analyst will use advanced analytic tools and processes to unlock the value of data and deliver insight on business performance. Strong relationship building skills, combined with a strategic focus, enable the Senior Data Analyst to prioritize and address customer needs while keeping enterprise priorities at the forefront of their thought process and approach. The Senior Data Analyst is a strategic business consultant who can analyze data and deliver meaningful and actionable results that identify areas of success and opportunity, propose business solutions, and inform strategic decision making.

 

Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst will provide analytic support to the Commercial, Senior Products, and Public Plans Provider Network analysis. The analytical work involves various reporting to the State and Federal agencies that require such reporting on a regular and/or ad-hoc basis. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with other departments within Point32Health e.g. compliance and various contracting areas to collect information and resolve any data and/or gap issues to ensure Point32Health is meeting the regulatory standards in place. This will also require working directly with the vendor to ensure that there are no data issues and the results are correct. In addition, the Senior Data Analyst will provide ongoing support for Provider utilization against the networks for all New England states and partners.

The role will also be responsible for other re-occurring reporting that is done to support contract managers in all three divisions. The position will also be required to support contract negotiations and work directly with Contract Managers to produce financial modeling in support of contract negotiations. The position requires the ability to translate complex contractual reimbursement terms into an easily understandable and articulate format.
Essential functions occur simultaneously and sometimes with very short turn-around time. Therefore, the employee must be able to appropriately handle each essential function, prioritize and seek assistance when necessary. These functions need to be performed on a consistent and regular basis, using good judgment.

 

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply a strategic mindset and broad subject matter expertise to solve complex and diverse business problems within and across business functions
• Establish strong business relationships and be regarded as a strategic business partner
• Apply advanced analytics methods and techniques, including multi-variate statistical analysis, to deliver insights that support key business objectives
• Leverage newer analytic techniques to analyze unstructured data e.g., voice analytics, text analytics, web analytics, geospatial analysis
• Use strong data visualization and data storytelling skills to engage stakeholders and drive strategic decision making
• Accountable for business adoption of analytics, making sure that they are operationalized and including embedded in business processes
• Partner with IT to deliver production level analytical solutions using both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
• Function in the role of analytics steward, providing support to other analysts to enable their use of the data to deliver accurate and timely insights
• Epitomize a lifelong learner, consistently seeking additional training and build knowledge/experience of business acumen, tools, languages, and data sources
• Act as a Lean Leader, adopting Lean philosophies and approaches to identify and address inefficiencies in your day-to-day work
• Act as a change leader
• Train, mentor, and guide associate level team members, both informally and formally as a dedicated “analytic buddy”
• Meets assigned timelines and escalates risks/barriers as needed Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in analytics related field with 5-7 years of experience, preferably in a payer/provider role with health insurance claims data experience
• Master’s degree preferred

• Passion for data and problem-solving
• Complex analytics experience, including advanced analytics and statistical analysis
• Intermediate/Advanced programming skills (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, Python)
• Intermediate/Advanced Tableau development experience
• Expert data visualization and data storytelling skills

• Experience Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Power Point
• Ability to manage tasks independently, take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
