What will you do?

You lead and manage Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) within all areas of the Zaandam site. You will lead and supervise specialists involved in establishing, training and securing safety procedures and oversee quality control and assurance programs and activities.

You are responsible for all environmentally relevant matters and within this, the first point of contact for the various authorities as well as neighboring companies and local residents. Furthermore, you lead and facilitate the development and implementation of cost-effective programs and procedures that continuously increase general awareness in SHEQ to prevent/reduce work-related injuries and illnesses.

As a member of the Management Team, your role is to motivate and drive the organization to internal and external compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, legislation and NORIT values. You manage local quality systems, including providing integration and maintenance/auditing of required quality systems.

In your role, you will directly and indirectly manage 5 employees, including a SHEQ specialist. You report to the Facility General Manager and are a member of the Management Team of the Zaandam site. Sparring partners in your SHEQ role you will find in the sister companies in the Netherlands and abroad.

About your profile:

You are an expert in safety & environment. You have a strong theoretical and practical knowledge of national and local regulations. You are a motivational leader/manager and have the ability to oversee the work of your staff while striking the right chord within all levels of the organization to promote a safe working environment (and practices). Planning, organizational and problem-solving skills are strengths, as is negotiating with external stakeholders.

You are a strong personality that people enjoy working with!

• A bachelor/graduate degree in environmental or safety engineering or related (technical) fields;
• 7+ years of work experience in a similar position, including extensive leadership experience;
• Excellent communication skills in the Dutch and English languages both verbally and in writing.
