Supervisor, Finance Operations & Business Analytics

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Business Implementation and Analytics this position is responsible for supervising the analytical and data support for complex Finance Operations systems and processes including claims disbursements, provider negative balance, accounts payable and commissions. This individual will demonstrate understanding of business operations to provide effective guidance for the Finance Operations department, within Corporate Finance, daily and acts as primary point of contact for all team members. The position requires a strong business, technical and analytical discipline as well as troubleshooting skills with the ability to work across multiple systems/interfaces. This is a cross functional role that interacts heavily with IT/NTT, internal business partners, and external customers/vendors requiring strong written/oral communication skills.

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Manage complex business requirements, user acceptance testing, reporting and process development in support of corporate projects and departmental initiatives to ensure successful implementation and integration of all business processes. Interact effectively with Project Managers, Team Mangers and Leads to ensure successful implementations.
  • Manage ongoing system maintenance, upgrades, configuration, and enhancements, as needed 
  • Responsible for analyzing data, validating, and interpreting results and communicating these results effectively.
  • Facilitate cross-training, implement process improvements, and ensure adequate controls are in place. Ensure corporate controls and polices are adhered to.
  • Support, coach, and train staff on an ongoing basis as needed to ensure a smooth functioning and high performing department. Mentor, motivate and develop staff to obtain maximum performance. Facilitate regular staff meetings to share knowledge of new processes, procedures, and corporate directives. Provide training and performance feedback and reviews.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the resolution of production issues by coordinating with Finance Ops production teams, internal/external business partners, and IT.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all weekly and monthly reporting deliverable
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate implementation of annual commission plans in commissions systems
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures and workflows.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business analytics or related field required. Master's Degree Preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of Seven years of business and analytical experience with demonstrated advanced technical expertise.
  • One to three years of proven team lead experience, prior supervisory experience preferred.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highly organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and have the flexibility to adapt to changing processes and timelines.
  • Ability to coach, train and develop a highly functioning team.
  • Must be able to interpret and analyze large sets of data for complex business situations and understand the implication to team.
  • Proven ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple, complex responsibilities, and be effective working autonomously to meet multiple deadlines.
  • This position requires strong leadership skills, independent judgment, strong critical thinking, creative problem solving, and timely and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Advanced technical expertise in Excel is required.
  • Technical proficiency in Cognos, SQL, and VBA are required.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
