Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer will have significant responsibility and visibility as a financial leader for the organization. Effective financial analysis skills, strategic thinking and the ability to design scalable solutions will be keys to success in this role. Establishing the first true Finance function internally will require entrepreneurial and creative thinking, sound judgement and analysis and both strategic and tactical comfortability.

The CFO is responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, policies, and programs in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction. This includes preparation of fiscal records and financial reports, development and implementation of finance and accounting policies, practices and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, developing and sharing monthly financial reports that are consumable and transparent.

This person will exhibit a high degree of learning agility, intellectual curiosity about the business and patience as they integrate and assimilate resilient, growth-accommodating policies and practices into the organization. Gaining the knowledge and understanding of our unique business model is critical in order to position the incumbent for continued future success.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Strategy

  • Understand current and develop future financial plans and strategies that effectively communicate and support the Company’s overall business objectives
  • Estimate, forecast, and anticipate requirements, trends, and variances; align financial resources; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; initiating corrective actions; minimize the impact of variances.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors and executive/senior management regarding key financial issues.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to short-term and long-term growth plans of Company
  • Collaborate extensively with executive/senior leaders business priorities
  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
  • Develop financial and tax mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company.

Finance Operations

Oversight of the following areas:

  • Finance and Financial Analysis
  • Financial reporting
  • Tax
  • Expense management
  • Accounting Policy

 Functional Effectiveness

  • The CFO is responsible for the following requirements and deadlines: financial statements, forecasting/budgeting, metric reporting results, general ledger, and other financial reporting as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the companies.
  • Present annual/quarterly/monthly financial packages and other informational reports/analysis that support company’s strategic direction.
  • Communicate, engage, and interact with Executive Leadership Team.
  • Maintain banking relationships. Optimize cash positions.
  • Take a “hands on” approach. The successful candidate will be capable and comfortable operating at strategic, tactical, and administrative level.

Management Practice

  • Develop and implement finance policies and practices that support the company’s core values, mission and vision.
  • Provide leadership and insight on best practice and competitive practice on finance-related topics & issues.
  • Continuously improve the work environment, by exhibiting respect, compassion, enthusiasm and a sense of humor.
  • Continually engage intellectually and creatively to improve overall company performance by developing and suggesting more effective methods of operating.

 Key Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
  • CPA required, either completed or in-progress
  • 5+ years total accounting or finance experience
  • Exceptional financial analysis expertise and experience making sound recommendations based on financial data
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
