Account Manager - Large Group

Reporting to the Market Vice President, the Account Executive’s main responsibility is to meet or exceed membership quota levels through penetration in existing accounts while demonstrating consistency and excellence as an Account Executive. In addition to the responsibilities of an Account Executive, this role will provide leadership and mentoring to colleagues and to new employees, demonstrate and share retention as well as new sales best practices.

 

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary contact between account, broker, and Tufts Health Plan, a Point32Health company. Acts as consultant on plan design, negotiates rates, and works with internal service areas such as Account Services to provide customer service solutions.
  • Develops and implements an overall strategic retention plan to achieve membership quota levels through penetration in existing accounts.
  • Responsible for RFPs, reports, membership projections, updates sales data systems, gathers competitive information. Works directly with Sales team to coordinate appropriate information.
  • Maintains current and thorough knowledge of products, benefits, systems, health care industry, legislation, and provider networks.
  • Attends health fairs and other client meetings and coordinates site visits. Prepare and deliver presentations. Accountable for appropriate level of entertaining clients and monitoring expenses.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds quota and demonstrates best practices.
  • Acts as resource for colleagues, providing leadership and mentoring. Represents management by attending meetings as assigned.
  • Model the principles of integrity, trust, community service and innovation.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops both internally and externally.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of health care business experience with proven sales and retention track record focused on establishing and maintaining customer relationships in a service delivery organization.
  • Negotiation and leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, persistent, detailed, takes initiative, creativity in problem solving, mentoring, coaching, strong written and verbal communication skills, proven strong organizational and project management skills,
  • Business software applications: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • RI Producer Life, Health and Accident license required

 

Working Environment:

Valid driver's license, ability to travel up to 50% including some overnight. Must be able to work flexible hours including morning, evening, and weekend shifts at employer sites, ability to stand for up to 8 hours (at health fairs), lifting of approximately 30 lbs.
