At Home Designs, a family-owned home interiors company specializing in window treatments, is looking for an Office Assistant/Receptionist to come grow with us! We are dedicated to providing beautiful custom window treatments and home interior services including kitchen and bath remodeling. We strive to provide superior customer service. The person selected for this position will have significant responsibility for our continued growth and success. This position will work closely with the owner and shop manager and will have close interaction with our customers. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills with computer and typing proficiency. Someone who loves to learn, help people and has strong administrative/organizational skills will be a great fit for this position. The position requires a minimum of 30 hours week with some Saturdays required. Knowledge and love for home interiors and window treatments a definite plus. 

The successful candidate will have the capability to manage vendor and customer challenges. You will be the liaison between vendors, customers, installers, and sales personnel, all to ensure timeliness in completed jobs and, ultimately the best in customer satisfaction. 

Office Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls and other communications.
  • Respond to email inquiries and follow-up
  • Greet clients and visitors and articulate company’s product and service offerings
  • Update and maintain client files in database
  • Schedule appointments for owner, installer, and sales staff.
  • Receive and process incoming service calls and repairs
  • Help organize and maintain office common areas.
  • Perform general office clerk duties and errands.
  • Coordinate events as necessary.
  • Maintain supply inventory.

Office Assistant Requirements:

  • High school diploma or associate’s degree.
  • Customer service and office experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and typing.
  • Warm personality with strong communication skills.
  • Good phone skills and professional manner
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under limited supervision.
  • Have a valid driver license with a clean driving record.
  • Punctual with STRONG attention-to-detail.
  • Interest in the home interiors industry.
  • Resourcefulness to problem solve in a customer-centric environment
  • Extreme accuracy with customer and financial data
