Position Overview:
The Associate Advisor supports the Lead Advisor to create and nurture long-term needs of firm clients, to help manage client relationships, and to actively participate in the advanced planning process. As a key member of the service team for all clients, you will anticipate needs, resolve problems, and follow through on agreed upon deliverables. You will provide consistent, accurate and timely results with research, meeting preparation, meeting attendance and note-taking, reporting, analysis, as well as input and management of the financial plan.
You will follow the highest standard of business and professional ethics, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. You are an excellent communicator that can grasp others needs and develop remarkable ways to fulfill them. You can move through your work efficiently while recognizing that the detail work in our business is critical. You have enough experience and/or common sense to know that the first answer isn’t always the right one and you are incredibly resourceful and thoughtful in all your interactions. This role is ideal for those who wish to develop client advisory skills under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced Wealth Advisory team.
You are going to be tech savvy, an adopter of change and always willing to help. You are naturally curious, love organization and detail work. You have been in the business awhile and understand many, if not all, client situations, even when complex. Because of this, you are proactive and able to help clients and your advisors steer clear of landmines.
This can be either a part-time or full-time position.
Essential Functions
This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Conducting annual reviews with assigned client groups
- Maintaining proactive client contact and providing on-going client service
- Preparing financial analyses and financial plans for clients
- Assisting with analysis, rebalancing, and administration of client investment portfolios
- Conducting investment research, reporting, and analysis
- Onboarding of clients in accordance with firm procedures
- Providing support for processing client service needs
- Responding to all client communication within our company guidelines
- Assisting with creation and implementation of workflows and procedures to improve efficiency and enhance client experience
- Assigning and monitoring tasks and workflows of team members to completion
- Meeting all regulatory obligations, including, but not limited to, maintenance of logs & blotters, record keeping, client communication and client suitability reviews and updates
- Participating in firm level strategic planning meetings
- Identifying opportunities for existing client growth and development, including nurturing family relationships
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; associates degree required
- 2+ years’ experience in securities or related industry experience required; preferably in client facing capacity (support roles included)
- SIE, Series 7 and either 63/65 or 66 securities required
- Life and Health certification required
- Additional designations are a plus (CFP®, MBA, CFA, ChFC, RICP™, etc.)
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)
- General knowledge of Financial Planning Software (eMoney or RightCapital a plus)
- Client Relationship Management system experience (Wealthbox is a plus)
- Clear professional, ethical and courteous conduct when dealing with clients, prospects, colleagues, and other businesses with which we interact
- Empathy and high emotional intelligence are needed in dealing with sensitive client issues
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects on time
- Ability to keep track of open tasks and project priorities
- Ability to see opportunities within the current book of business
- Understands the Financial Planning process
- Ability to investigate and research situations
- Have a proactive approach to client service and problem solving
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail, time management, and exceptional organizational skills are essential for success
- Flexibility in day-to-day workflow and ability to pivot and adjust priorities
- Ability to work a minimum of 24 hours per week, with a maximum of 40 hours per week
Compensation and Benefits:
- This is a W-2, hourly role with a range of $35-43 per hour. We also have a bonus program paid up to three times per year.
