Summary
We are expanding our firm and looking for a Junior Advisor. You understand our industry and bring the important characteristics of detail-orientation, follow up, and exceptional client interaction. You are coming to us with experience in an advisory firm, hopefully with exposure to planning and investment management. You have likely gone through the process to obtain your Securities licensing, or plan to one day. You are eager to learn more in this business, you care about people genuinely, and you are usually the first person to jump in to help! This role is diverse, and you thrive in that type of environment. You will help our advisory team with scheduling, meeting preparation, everything account related, all service requests, research and analysis, insurance, financial planning, and more! It’s a big job with a ton of exposure. We need you to understand or look for the “why” behind what we are delivering to clients. The end result is fulfilled and engaged clients that have gained clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.
Responsibilities
- Confirm client risk profile is determined and is kept current
- Discuss client financial objectives and investment accounts with Lead Advisor
- Identify and obtain the information necessary to complete client's financial plan and open investment accounts
- Complete initial draft of financial plan, including retirement income strategy and appropriate investment allocation to review with Lead Advisor
- Undertake research both independently and with the Lead Advisor to identify suitable solutions and strategies to meet the client's needs
- Prepare information/comparisons for analysis by Lead Advisor
- Liaison with client's legal and tax advisers as needed
- Review current investment strategy and recommended allocation of assets based on client's risk tolerance
- Ensure all compliance paperwork is in order
- Attend client meetings and capture meeting notes and action items
- Address action items and follow up on outstanding tasks
- Act as main point of contact and deal effectively with queries from clients and other parties through effective communication
- Periodically review investment portfolio, asset allocation, risk profile etc.
- Establish and build strong relationships with clients
- Answer client calls, handle requests as appropriate, or escalate to team
- Prepare Advisors for meetings with appropriate forms, reports, data and research
- Respond to service requests for client accounts and troubleshoot any issues
- Process client account paperwork for opening/closing accounts and money movement
- Update contact management system daily
- Draft letters as directed by advisor
- File and upload client statements, correspondence, agreements, and so forth
- Assist with seminars as directed by advisor
- Make suggestions to systematize and improve office functioning
- Anticipate advisor's needs and handle them proactively
- Other office duties like process mail, greet customers, send communication
Background
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
- Financial services experience required; ideally in B/D or RIA environment
- Series 7, 63/65 or 66 highly preferred or willing to obtain within 12 months
- Competency in investments, financial planning, and insurance with proficient technical capabilities
- Advanced level computer skills; familiarity with eMoney and Redtail preferred
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- A passion to help clients achieve their goals, and a desire to strengthen partnerships to facilitate this work
- Exhibits a strong desire to develop personal and professional skills, together with knowledge and understanding of investment philosophies and planning practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and computer skills
- Proactive team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
Compensation: $50K-$60K DOE
