WHO WE ARE

At Values Added, we’re passionate about helping progressives build financial lives they feel good about. We do it by supporting them in leveraging their wealth to make an impact and live joyful lives.

Ensuring our clients' values are reflected in their portfolios is just the beginning. We use our technical expertise to help clients maximize what brings meaning to their lives: family, community, fulfilling work, and being of service. With experience in ethical investment, social impact, advanced tax planning, and charitable giving, we operate as a fee-only, fiduciary, comprehensive planning firm that always puts clients' best interests first.

We take a team approach to serving our clients. Bringing together advisors with different backgrounds, experiences, and thinking leads to superior results and is critical to our success. That’s why we strongly encourage women, people of color, those with LGBTQ+ identities, and all members of historically underrepresented groups to apply.

WHY YOU’D BE A GREAT FIT

Are you a CFP® financial advisor who enjoys leading client relationships but also seeks a collaborative team environment, ongoing learning, and mentorship? Join Values Added, where you’ll become a key player in a thriving advisory team with the ability to work remotely! You’ll manage client relationships with the help of an associate advisor and dive into complex cases alongside the firm’s founding Managing Partner.

In this role, you’ll guide clients through insightful planning analyses, deliver impactful recommendations, and help them achieve their financial (and life) dreams. This is your chance to advance your expertise, deliver exceptional financial planning, and shine in a role that balances independence with team collaboration.

We’re looking for a proactive, process-oriented professional who’s organized, able to juggle multiple priorities, and consistently responds to clients in a timely manner. High client service standards are a must. Bringing your own clients isn’t necessary—you’ll be engaged with both new and existing clients of the firm. Additionally, business development and people management are not part of the role, though we do offer career tracks for those who excel at or want to grow in these areas.

Client Management

  • Act as first chair on assigned new relationships, overseeing onboarding and the delivery of the annual service calendar
  • Act as second chair for the firm’s founding Managing Partner, supporting and managing all aspects of the planning process for our more complex client cases
  • Collaborate with your advisory team to provide support to all team clients, stepping in as needed to lead meetings, act as subject matter expert, answer client questions, and provide overall backup

Financial Planning & Advisory

  • Review and clarify the needs, goals, and financial objectives of clients and develop their financial plan
  • Build and deliver comprehensive planning as well as tax and investment recommendations that align with the personal and social impact financial goals and objectives of clients
  • Monitor the client’s financial situation and plan proactively to identify areas that need to be updated and addressed, then coordinate and/or complete delivery of those services based on the client's need
  • Prepare investment recommendations based on a client’s risk tolerance, current financial situation and holdings, financial and social impact goals, and time horizon and in line with firm philosophies and models
  • Address all planning and investment-related advisory inquiries from clients and/or delegate operational inquiries to associates or client service team as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients’ other professional advisors (i.e., accountants, lawyers, etc.)

Firm & Team Support

  • Where needed, provide supervision of operational tasks, support Associate advisor training, and supervise and delegate to others where appropriate
  • Lead and/or support advisory-related strategic initiatives and projects to improve financial planning and investment processes, deliverables and workflows
  • Provide guidance and peer-to-peer training across the team
  • Start to determine a specific area of investment or financial planning where you are the firm’s leading subject matter expert

Other Possible Duties

We encourage you to spend a reasonable portion of time exploring interests and growth beyond your primary role. This means that from time to time, you may be asked to support or lead a special project. If you have experience in a financial planning specialty (i.e. equity comp, solidarity economy, social impact investments, advanced tax planning for business owners, etc.) let us know-though this is not needed to apply.
