Position Overview

The Paraplanner in our firm will ideally be an experienced and securities-licensed individual who can participate in all phases of the services we offer to our clients. You will be responsible for supporting our primary advisor in several key areas, including meeting preparation and attendance, data gathering and analysis, development of financial planning recommendations, implementation, complex case research and resolution, and overall client service. Additionally, there will be duties around reporting, operations, and anything else that may help to move the business forward. You enjoy high visibility within client relationships. You will be incredibly detailed and organized and able to keep all the balls in the air, no matter what shifts occur. An attractive compensation and benefits package awaits the successful candidate.

Position Duties and Tasks

  • Assist the advisor in the preparation of upcoming client meetings;
  • Attend meetings for the purpose of notetaking and follow up, to progress to participation based on experience, knowledge, and comfort
  • Engage and support clients through the data collection process
  • Analyze and research information for plan development
  • Organize, review and prepare the data for analysis
  • Produce detailed client road maps, presentations and analyses for meetings with clients and prospects using a combination of software
  • Research complex situations, set client expectations, and define the actions necessary to resolve inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain communication with current clients through on-going mailings, email, and phone calls
  • Address client questions on account activity, policies and statements
  • Update client accounts, daily review of alerts, suitability updates, etc.
  • Provide operations and service overflow support; answer phones, open new client accounts, oversee the asset transfer process and work with the firm advisors to provide a great client experience
  • General office and back-office support functions as needed

Position Requirements

  • College degree preferred or some combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years’ experience in financial service industry highly preferred
  • Series 7/63/65 securities license highly preferred; or able to obtain within 90 days
  • Knowledge of Broker Dealer and Investment Advisory Regulations a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and manage multiple detailed tasks under deadline in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills

Compensation: $60K-$70K
