About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our client’s Austin, TX office. As a subject matter expert, you will lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, analysis, and design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Central Texas. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of water and wastewater pipelines, force mains, pump stations, lift stations, treatment plants, water supply systems, and solids handling facilities.
Develop plans, specifications, cost opinions, schedules, and permits for both preliminary and final designs.
Oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to quality control (QA/QC) processes.
Manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, ensuring seamless execution and stakeholder engagement.
Coordinate design drawings with the CAD team and review deliverables to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain regular client communication and conduct periodic project meetings to ensure alignment with expectations and goals.
Support business development efforts by preparing technical proposals and collaborating with the marketing team to pursue new opportunities.
Work with the finance team on fee proposals, project forecasting, reporting, and invoicing.
Conduct technical equipment evaluations and prepare detailed engineering reports.
Travel occasionally, primarily within the Austin-San Antonio region, to oversee project implementation.
Required Qualifications
Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum 12 years of technical experience, including at least 5 years in project management or team leadership.
Proven expertise in designing municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of current water and wastewater regulations and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, meeting scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, ensuring project success from inception to completion.
Project resume showcasing relevant experience (must be ready to submit).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Central Texas municipalities, including the City of Austin and surrounding agencies.
Prior project experience in Austin, San Antonio, and nearby regions.
