Project Engineer

They are actively hiring Project Engineers with experience on mid-sized NCDOT/SCDOT projects and will move quickly on qualified candidates. Preferred Background:

  • Experience with mid-sized NCDOT or SCDOT infrastructure projects

  • Background with large heavy civil contractors or small/mid-sized specialty subcontractors

  • Preference for candidates currently located in North or South Carolina or with regional experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation for owner review

  • Analyze project plans and specs; assist with pre-construction planning and design interpretation

  • Coordinate subcontractors and field crews to ensure timely, high-quality work

  • Track project quantities and costs for billing and budget control

  • Assist in developing and maintaining CPM schedules (Primavera P6 preferred)

  • Contribute to design of temporary works (formwork, shoring, etc.)

  • Manage procurement of materials and ensure on-time delivery

  • Submit compliance certifications and maintain quality control documentation

  • Develop efficient, safe work plans in collaboration with field leadership

  • Review shop drawings and as-builts; manage submission processes with project owners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (required)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience on NCDOT or SCDOT projects (required)

  • Strong technical skills: Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, CAD

  • Experience with or exposure to scheduling and cost software: Primavera P6, HCSS (preferred)

  • Detail-oriented, organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship

Travel Requirements:

  • Primarily local travel within the Carolinas during business hours

  • Occasional overnight or out-of-area travel may be required

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record required
