Broadband Marketing Manager

TD Madison & Associates is a retained executive search firm that specializes in the broadband industry.  Our client is the City of Ft. Collins, CO.  We are seeking candidates for a Marketing Manager position.

SUMMARY:

The Marketing Manager is a strong, highly credible, the team leader with demonstrated abilities in facilitating and implementing a clear brand vision and marketing strategy. This position reports to the Director of Broadband.

The ideal candidate is responsible for designing and delivering marketing campaigns, managing the Fiber to the Premise (FTTP) brand, public relations, event coordination as well as the FTTP initiative’s online presence. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. This position must skillfully operate in a dynamic political environment, builds lasting partnerships, and embrace a culture of metric driven performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for product content creation (e.g., sales enablement documentation, case studies, product videos, website copy, blog posts) to articulate the benefits of our products to the world.
  • Keep promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Provides research, writing and editing information for use in news releases, feature stories, advertising copy, e-newsletters, web pages, brochures and official letters.
  • Coordinates and develops marketing research and analytic reports.
  • Recommend and coordinate best options, internally or externally, for outsourcing of creative projects and media production.
  • Responsible for developing and managing a budget.

Campaigns and Brand Development

  • Build and manage various electronic, print and contact campaigns, including the template designs, calls-to-action, mailing lists and content used.
  • Build and manage customer appreciation campaigns.
  • Coordinate all areas where our brand will be used.

Public Relations and Event Coordination: 

  • Create content regularly (press releases, corporate announcements, and creative content).
  • Collaborate with members of the team, including executives, to craft and pitch press releases and thought leadership columns.
  • Advises management on media relations, community relations projects and activities.
  • Manage other design needs such as presentations, signage, and trade show collateral as needed.
  • Plan meetings and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists.
  • Directs press relations including serving as a spokesperson, contacting media to propose stories and feature articles, and crafting press releases.

 Website/ Social Media/ SEO Coordination: 

  • Build and manage the FTTP initiative’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success (e.g., Twitter chats, LinkedIn discussions, etc.).
  • Optimize content for search engines and lead generation.
  • Manage and improve organic search engine performance and goal-setting based on click-through rates, traffic, and conversions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in SEO and major search engines.
  • Lead the team effort to update the FTTP initiative’s website.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the necessary functions of this position.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills. 
  • Experience with creating and curating content for business media and blogs. 
  • Experience using a variety of popular social media platforms. 
  • Knowledge of social analytics tools. 
  • A passion and experience with social media, email campaigns and the technology – must love and comfortable with the digital era. 
  • Creative and innovative thinker, tech-savvy with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, HTML and any software commonly used for creating marketing material and social content a strong advantage.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, detail oriented with multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to show a portfolio of previous work highly desirable. 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Business, New Media, Public Relations or related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
