Team Red Dog is seeking an experienced hands-on Lab Technician - Hardware for a Fortune 100 client to support the development and validation of custom compute and AI hardware for large-scale data center platforms. This is a fully onsite lab role in Redmond, WA ideal for candidates with deep experience in hardware labs, electrical measurements, and board-level rework who want to contribute directly to next-generation AI and data center infrastructure.

 

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Extensive experience performing electrical measurements in a hardware lab environment, including use of Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), oscilloscopes, and related instrumentation to validate hardware performance.
  2. Strong hands-on background assembling, reworking, and soldering circuit boards and complex hardware systems to prepare devices for precision measurement.
  3. Proven experience working as a lab or engineering technician, supporting pre-production hardware validation, data collection, and documentation in a structured lab setting.

 

Opportunity Overview:
This role offers the opportunity to work onsite in a large, well-equipped hardware lab supporting the development of custom compute and AI platforms that are critical to modern data centers. You will play a direct role in helping engineering teams move hardware from early validation stages toward manufacturing readiness.

How you will make an impact:
• Execute Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards to validate interconnect performance.
• Collect scope and related electrical measurement data in a lab environment and summarize findings for engineering stakeholders.
• Prepare systems, boards, and test fixtures for accurate and repeatable measurements.
• Add instrumentation to devices and boards under test to enable high-precision measurements.
• Perform soldering and rework as needed to support measurement readiness and hardware validation efforts.

The expertise you bring:
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience working as a lab technician or engineering technician.
• Strong experience making electrical measurements on circuit boards, including oscilloscope, TDR, and VNA measurements.
• Demonstrated experience assembling computer systems or other complex electrical systems.
• Practical experience soldering and unsoldering components on circuit boards.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week during standard business hours in a lab environment.

• Prior experience working in hardware labs supporting pre-production or validation-stage hardware.
• Deep familiarity with executing and interpreting VNA and scope measurements on test boards and engineering samples.
• Comfort performing hands-on system rework and troubleshooting in a fast-paced lab setting.
• Experience supporting data center hardware or high-speed interconnect technologies such as PCI Express or DDR.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability with daily onsite lab presence, and openness to feedback to continuously improve work quality.
