Team Red Dog is seeking a Senior Data Scientist -Growth & Lifecycle Analytics to support our client, a world-class innovation client in the gaming industry, where you will apply advanced data science, marketing analytics, SQL, Python, Power BI, and causal inference methodologies to drive measurable impact on player engagement, retention, and monetization for a globally recognized AAA game.

 

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Advanced SQL and Python expertise (5+ years) to extract, transform, analyze, and model large-scale marketing and player lifecycle datasets, and to build analytical frameworks that support experimentation and campaign optimization.
  2. Strong stakeholder communication and presentation experience (5+ years) translating complex analyses into executive-ready insights, dashboards, and structured recommendations for marketing, product, and engineering teams.
  3. Dashboard development experience (3+ years), preferably using Power BI, to design and maintain reporting solutions that track campaign performance, lifecycle metrics, and business impact.
  4. Experience designing and maintaining causal inference frameworks or experimentation pipelines to evaluate A/B tests and measure statistically significant campaign outcomes.

 

Opportunity Overview:

This role sits at the center of Player Lifecycle Marketing within a large gaming studio, partnering across marketing and engineering to ensure a robust pipeline from database to reporting. You will analyze marketing A/B tests, evaluate evergreen campaign performance, and identify the key drivers of engagement, retention, and post-sale monetization. This is a highly visible role where your insights will directly influence campaign strategy, roadmap prioritization, and investment decisions for one of the industry’s most well-known games.

How you will make an impact:

  • Analyze lifecycle marketing campaigns and A/B test results to identify statistically significant outcomes and actionable next steps.
  • Develop and lead analyses that uncover key drivers of monetization, engagement, retention, and player lifecycle behavior.
  • Build and maintain causal inference frameworks and analytical pipelines to strengthen experimentation rigor.
  • Perform data exploration, profiling, and proof-of-concept table creation to support improvements to the production data environment.
  • Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards that communicate campaign performance and overall Player Lifecycle Marketing impact.
  • Translate complex data into clear, decision-ready narratives answering what happened, why it happened, what it means, and what to do next.
  • Produce executive-ready materials including dashboards, presentation decks, experiment readouts, and concise written summaries.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product managers, and engineering stakeholders to define success metrics, measurement plans, and instrumentation needs.
  • Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences to ensure alignment on performance insights and business trade-offs.

The expertise you bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics including data profiling, table creation, and marketing analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience working with SQL; familiarity with SparkSQL, Databricks, or Azure Data Explorer is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python; experience with PySpark is a bonus.
  • 3+ years of experience building dashboards, preferably in Power BI.
  • Experience with marketing platforms such as Braze, Salesforce, or CleverTap is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently manage complex data challenges.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills with demonstrated ability to connect data to business outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Local to the Seattle area and able to work onsite in Redmond, WA three days per week.
