Dynamics 365 / Dataverse Data Analyst

Team Red Dog - Redmond, WA, United States

Team Red Dog is partnering with a Global data and analytics innovator to hire a Dynamics 365 / Dataverse Data Analyst to support enterprise CRM modernization for our client. This remote, part time contract role focuses on Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Platform automation, and data governance, driving end-to-end lifecycle visibility from opportunity through payment within a first-party Microsoft ecosystem.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Dynamics 365 CRM and Dataverse configuration experience, including entity modeling, relationships, forms, views, business rules, auditing, and security configuration to support complex operational workflows.
  2. Power Platform automation and ETL expertise using Power Automate, Dataflows, and Power Query to integrate finance systems, reduce manual data entry, and improve data reliability.
  3. Advanced SQL and scripting proficiency (T-SQL plus Python or PowerShell) for data shaping, bulk import/export, validation, troubleshooting, and automation at scale.
  4. Power BI and Dataverse reporting experience to deliver operational dashboards, KPIs, and lifecycle insights for business and finance stakeholders.

Opportunity Overview:
This role offers the opportunity to modernize and simplify a high-impact CRM environment supporting data acquisition and AI enablement. You will work at the intersection of business development, acquisition, and procurement, replacing spreadsheet-driven processes with scalable Dataverse models and low-code automation. The work is highly visible, outcome-focused, and aligned to Microsoft Success-by-Design practices, enabling rapid delivery of measurable improvements in data quality, governance, and operational efficiency.

How you will make an impact:
• Partner with senior stakeholders and technical teams to define data requirements and implementation strategies across the Opportunity → Order/PO → Delivery → Invoice → Payment lifecycle
• Design and evolve Dataverse data models to support one-to-many relationships, multi-delivery tracking, and minimal field bloat
• Implement and maintain Power Automate and Dataflow solutions to ingest and link finance system data with CRM records
• Modify and extend Dynamics 365 schemas, forms, views, and business rules to improve usability and adoption
• Audit and rationalize CRM fields, defining a minimal viable field set and configuring role-based experiences
• Establish data validation, duplicate detection, and referential integrity across core entities
• Define governance models, ownership RACI, auditing, SOPs, and bulk update workflows
• Deliver operational reporting and insights via Power BI and Dataverse charts
• Maintain security, compliance, and environment management best practices for safe change delivery

The expertise you bring:
• Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 CRM and Dataverse configuration
• Strong ETL and automation background using Power Automate, Dataflows, Power Query, and APIs
Advanced SQL and scripting experience for data shaping and validation
Power BI dashboarding and operational reporting experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of stakeholder collaboration
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 8–10 years of relevant professional experience, including substantial work with the Microsoft Power Platform

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:
Successful candidates demonstrate deep practical experience simplifying and governing CRM environments while balancing business needs with technical rigor. They proactively identify data quality risks, design scalable automation, communicate clearly across business and finance teams, and deliver steady, incremental improvements that drive adoption and measurable process efficiency.
