Team Red Dog is partnering with a cloud-first enterprise client to hire an experienced Technical Program Manager – Observability & Monitoring to lead strategic monitoring initiatives across large-scale infrastructure environments. This fully remote contract role offers the opportunity to drive enterprise-wide Splunk and Azure monitoring programs while working alongside high-impact engineering and operations teams.

  1. Strategic Program Leadership – Leading multi-phase technical programs, defining governance models, managing OKRs, and driving risk mitigation across enterprise infrastructure initiatives.
  2. Splunk Deployment & Integration – Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and integrating Splunk (Enterprise or ITSI) at scale within complex environments.
  3. Technical Program Management in Enterprise Infrastructure – Program ownership across hybrid cloud, compute, storage, and network monitoring initiatives.

Opportunity Overview:
This role was created due to increased workload and growing demand for unified monitoring across enterprise infrastructure. The program manager will lead observability strategy and execution, partnering closely with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable monitoring solutions that improve reliability, performance, and incident response.

How you will make an impact:
• Drive strategic program leadership for a unified enterprise-wide monitoring strategy
• Define and execute a multi-phase Splunk deployment aligned to business and infrastructure goals
• Partner with Infrastructure, Linux, Scheduler, Storage, ETX, and Cloud teams to establish an integrated monitoring framework
• Align observability metrics with SLOs, SLIs, and incident response objectives
• Lead Splunk deployment, configuration, and system integrations ensuring scalability and compliance
• Onboard data sources, standardize alerting, and deliver operational dashboards
• Establish KPIs, data retention policies, and compliance standards for observability platforms
• Optimize ingestion, indexing, and search performance for cost efficiency
• Manage vendor relationships for licensing, support, and roadmap alignment
• Communicate program progress, risks, and outcomes to executive stakeholders
• Enable faster incident resolution through improved observability and predictive analytics
• Deliver documentation and training for operational teams

The expertise you bring:
• 5+ years of technical program management experience within enterprise infrastructure environments
• Proven experience deploying and managing Splunk (Enterprise or ITSI) and Azure Monitoring at scale
• Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture, infrastructure components, and HPC environments
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Dynatrace
• Knowledge of SRE principles and incident management practices
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and/or Splunk Certified Admin/Architect credentials
