Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  • Must be local to Redmond, WA - will not consider relocation candidates at this time.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Azure DevOps or Embedded Firmware Automation – You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks that support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for firmware validation and testing. Experience with Azure Pipelines, build automation, and version control is key.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience building automation tools and services using C# and PowerShell – This role requires custom tool development to automate firmware testing, device configuration, and system diagnostics. Strong coding skills in C# for software-driven automation and PowerShell for scripting and infrastructure automation are essential.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in lab environments, managing hardware setups, and troubleshooting test failures – You will be hands-on with lab management, setting up hardware testbeds, running automated test cases, and resolving firmware-related issues using diagnostic tools. Familiarity with hardware debugging processes and lab maintenance best practices is a plus.

Opportunity Overview

This role will focus on building and maintaining automation infrastructure to improve testing efficiency and shift quality processes earlier in development. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work in a lab environment where testing is performed on devices, running continuous integration and development processes, and expanding test automation capabilities.

This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in hands-on lab work, developing automation tools, and enhancing test workflows. You will collaborate with engineers to fine-tune automation processes, analyze test results, and drive efficiency in validation cycles.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain lab environments, including equipment setup, device management, and test automation workflows.
  • Develop and optimize automation infrastructure, fine-tuning current software and firmware testing projects.
  • Run continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD) tests, ensuring seamless test execution.
  • Perform post-implementation validation of automation tools, refining workflows based on test results.
  • Triaging and resolving bugs identified through automated and manual testing processes.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, or embedded firmware testing.
  • Proficiency in C# and PowerShell to develop test automation scripts and maintain DevOps workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Azure DevOps and related testing infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in lab environments, managing test equipment and ensuring efficient validation processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and refine automation tools to improve system reliability.
  • Collaborative mindset, with a strong ability to work across teams and contribute to a high-performing development culture.
