Team Red Dog has an immediate opening for a Senior Technical Writer for our client’s team that is helping to identify, measure, and mitigate Responsible AI issues in enterprise products powered by generative AI technology. This role is ideal for those passionate about Responsible AI and eager to contribute to impactful projects alongside a global technology leader, their Search Assistant and Intelligence Science resources.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience with generative AI, AI Safety, or Responsible AI.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with content design.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with Excel.

Opportunity OverviewAs a Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in supporting Responsible AI (RAI) efforts for the organization’s enterprise products, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary Research and Product teams. In this role, you’ll develop methods, tools, and resources to identify, measure, and mitigate risks associated with generative AI. Ideal candidates will have a background in linguistics or social sciences, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and bring experience in large enterprise settings, such as Microsoft. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-level stakeholder interactions and workloads efficiently are essential. Your expertise will be invaluable in identifying patterns of potential content risks, establishing guidelines, and creating measurement artifacts for Responsible AI assessment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop content and product policy guidelines to measure risks in generative AI.
  • Conduct deep dives with feature teams to identify Responsible AI issues.
  • Create methods, practices, and tools for assessing and mitigating RAI harms caused by large-scale language technologies.
  • Capture patterns across various content harms and document them as resources, tools, and practices for different language technology use cases.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote Responsible AI assessment and practices.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in linguistics or a related social science field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 5-7 years of overall experience in the field of writing technical documentation for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Previous experience in Responsible AI assessment for generative AI-powered systems.
  • Technical writing skills, with experience creating documentation for a technical audience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Excel and content design.
