Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Minimum 2+ years of experience with user research tools such as UserTesting, dscout, and Qualtrics (must have experience with at least 2).
  2. Minimum 2+ years of experience designing and conducting research end-to-end for applied technology products.
  3. Minimum 2+ years of experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

Opportunity Overview:

The group is a design and research team innovating at the forefront of customer experiences across Windows, Store, Cloud, Devices, and Mixed Reality. The Store Experiences Team is seeking a User Researcher with an end-to-end product perspective to deliver specific and actionable UX recommendations. This role focuses on the Microsoft Store available on the Windows operating system, which serves over a billion users globally. You will be responsible for understanding the user funnel, deepening engagement, and providing insights to inform product strategy and design.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work in an agile environment with cross-discipline stakeholders to understand and prioritize research requests.
  • Use a variety of research techniques, from generative to evaluative, to inform product and design decisions throughout the product cycle.
  • Deliver timely, actionable research findings to key stakeholders and communicate insights in clear and compelling ways.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure research findings are incorporated into product development.
  • Advocate for customer-centric design and engineering practices.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human-computer interaction, experimental/social/cognitive psychology, behavioral science, human factors, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of industry experience conducting qualitative research for consumer products.
  • Proven expertise in applying both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and customer empathy.
  • Experience with tools like UserTesting, dscout, and Qualtrics.
  • Familiarity with the e-commerce space, including online shopping and payment methods, is a plus.
