Software Design Engineer

Our client, a global technology leader, is looking for a Software Engineer for their Xbox PC Experiences Team. This team is responsible for building innovative gaming experiences on the Xbox PC app! This role involves designing and developing new features to drive engagement for Game Pass and the PC Gaming ecosystem, with a focus on TypeScript, React Native for Windows, and consumer-facing applications.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

• TypeScript Development: Minimum 3+ years of experience with excellent design and coding skills.
• React Native Expertise: Minimum 3+ years of experience, particularly with React Native for Windows.
• Windows Application Development: Minimum 3+ years of experience with Windows ecosystem technologies such as C++ XAML, UWP, and WinRT APIs.

Opportunity Overview:

Be a part of the Xbox PC Experiences team, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to build engaging and impactful gaming experiences for users worldwide. You will contribute to the development of end-user applications, collaborating with a talented group of engineers and designers.

Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited to the Following:

• Application Development:
• Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain features for the Xbox PC app.
• Build client applications using React Native for Windows, TypeScript, and C++ XAML as needed.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand system requirements, document specifications, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Partner with the team to ensure cross-platform compatibility and performance optimization.
• Debugging and Quality Assurance:
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues during development and post-implementation.
• Create and execute detailed test plans, validating all functionality before deployment.
• Project Management:
• Analyze enhancement requests and provide development estimates.
• Prepare migration packages for system testing, user testing, and final implementation.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:
• 4+ years of professional software development, specifically in end-user applications.
• Solid foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Expertise in TypeScript, React Native, and Windows development technologies like C++ XAML.
• Proven experience working within the Windows ecosystem, including UWP and WinRT APIs.
• Other Key Skills:
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and technical communication skills.
• Experience with portfolios, GitHub repositories, or providing work samples is a plus.
