Team Red Dog is looking for an experienced Software Design Engineer in Test 3 (Redmond Area) to join our global technology client’s team working on cutting-edge server hardware technologies. This contract role is a unique opportunity to contribute to hardware and software development projects deployed across the Azure fleet. This role provides the chance to work on advanced server hardware and intellectual property within the Azure fleet. You’ll gain exposure to large-scale cloud services, collaborate with experts in open-source and proprietary technologies, and directly contribute to innovation in one of the largest cloud service providers.
How you will make an impact:
• Configure, deploy, and manage test machines across Windows and Ubuntu server environments.
• Design, develop, and execute test plans and automated test harnesses.
• Perform detailed diagnostics and troubleshooting on hardware systems.
• Collaborate closely with developers to refine system functionality and testing strategies.
• Produce comprehensive reports and ensure deadlines are met with high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to code reviews and open-source project development.
The expertise you bring:
• 5–10 years of professional experience in hardware testing and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python, with additional scripting language knowledge (Rust experience is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ADO, and test automation.
• Solid understanding of server environments (Azure, Windows, Linux/Ubuntu).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
