UX/UI Developer

Team Red Dog - Redmond, WA, United States

Team Red Dog is seeking a UX/UI Developer to support our enterprise design-forward technology client by accelerating AI-assisted UX prototyping and internal UX tooling for Microsoft Digital Studio (MSD). This fully remote contract role sits at the intersection of UX, AI, and agentic experiences, partnering closely with designers and researchers to bring intelligent, reusable UX concepts to life for internal Microsoft tools.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. UI/UX engineering and rapid prototyping expertise, with deep experience translating complex interaction patterns into functional, high-fidelity prototypes used for research, demos, and design-to-engineering handoff
  2. Strong JavaScript and front-end development skills, including hands-on experience building internal tools such as Figma plugins, automation scripts, or similar UX enablement solutions
  3. Experience with AI-assisted development, including working with LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI preferred) to prototype agentic, multi-turn, and reasoning-based UX flows
  4. Proven ability to collaborate closely with designers and researchers in fast-paced, iterative environments

Opportunity Overview:
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how AI and agentic UX patterns are explored, prototyped, and shared across Microsoft Digital Studio. Rather than delivering production software, you will focus on enabling design experimentation and accelerating innovation through reusable UX tools, intelligent prototypes, and shared internal platforms. Your work will directly influence how internal teams design, test, and evolve AI-driven user experiences.

How you will make an impact:

  • Partner with designers and researchers to rapidly prototype AI-driven and agentic UX flows, including multi-turn interactions, reasoning paths, fallbacks, and orchestration
  • Build and iterate interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Lovable, Copilot Studio, and lightweight internal sandboxes
  • Develop reusable internal UX tools, including Figma plugins and lightweight UX automation scripts or agents
  • Create and maintain a shared internal Agentic UX space that centralizes patterns, prototypes, and research insights for MSD Studio
  • Contribute reusable assets, examples, workflows, and documentation to a shared Agentic UX Platform
  • Document implementations and support knowledge transfer to ensure long-term reuse beyond the engagement
  • Follow company security and compliance requirements for internal tooling and data handling

The expertise you bring:

  • Strong experience in data-driven software design and UI/UX development
  • Hands-on experience building functional design prototypes and internal AI-powered tools
  • Experience working with AI-assisted workflows and LLM APIs, preferably Azure OpenAI
  • Comfort collaborating with designers and researchers through rapid iteration cycles
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, HCI, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in UI/UX engineering or UI/UX development

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:
Successful candidates bring a strong portfolio of coded prototypes and internal tools, demonstrating how they translate agentic UX concepts into working experiences. They are highly autonomous, creative problem solvers who enjoy experimenting, iterating quickly, and building reusable assets rather than long-term production systems. Comfort presenting and walking through portfolio projects with designers and stakeholders is essential, as is hands-on exposure to AI-powered workflows and prototyping.
