Position Summary: The scientist will be responsible for design, planning and generation of key enabling reagents to support early discovery of small molecule therapeutics. This involves identifying the most productive labelling strategies for a wide variety of proteins, evaluating the feasibility of screening different protein classes, as well as working alongside talented associate scientists to perform hands-on protein conjugation, purification and biochemical characterization for a variety of protein classes. Identifying optimal buffers for functionalized proteins is also key. The scientist will not only lead the team preparing these reagents but also lead screening these reagents using Terray’s cutting edge platform.

The scientist will also be responsible for design, planning and execution of follow-up biochemical, cellular and animal studies for potent hits that are identified. This follow-up work will be conducted both onsite and at various CROs.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in biology, chemistry or related field


  • Master’s degree in biology, chemistry or related field and 4 years of related experience
  • Broad training in protein biochemistry
  • Familiarity with fluorescent microscopy
  • Experience with in vitro biochemical and cellular assays.
  • Proficiency in protein purification methods including experience with chromatography instrumentation such as HPLC, FPLC and/or LC-MS
  • Understanding of and hands-on experience with common strategies for protein labelling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with animal models of disease
  • Experience training/leading RA-level scientists
