Company Overview: Terray Therapeutics is a venture backed biotechnology company utilizing a novel spatially encoded screening and optimization platform to develop treatments for historically intractable causes of human disease. The Company's platform technology has the industry’s highest throughput capacity, broadest target applicability and most comprehensive data output. Our internal development programs are focused on oncology and immunology. In addition to these programs we also work with leading pharmaceutical companies.
Our platform is based on fluorescent imaging of ultra-dense microarrays such that we can measure billions of target/molecule interactions in a day, generating hundreds of millions of dose-response binding curves.
Position Summary: Terray Therapeutics is seeking an associate organic chemist to be a key part of the team responsible for development of chemistry for and execution of combinatorial library synthesis.
The inputs for screening in our ultra-dense microarrays are vast encoded combinatorial libraries synthesized on nanoscale beads. The libraries are initially synthesized as DNA-encoded libraries on the beads. After these beads are immobilized in a microwell array, the DNA is decoded to identify which bead went to each position and then the DNA is removed to enable ultrafast, tag-free screening.
The candidate will be a key member of our chemistry team responsible for library synthesis. This includes reaction development to expand reaction classes that work in our format and to enable incorporation of novel building blocks. Terray employs a unique, best-in-class reaction monitoring technique for analysis of hundreds of millions of individual reactions.
The chemist will also be responsible for helping to execute library syntheses after optimal conditions are developed. The chemist will also execute synthetic reactions to support medicinal chemistry optimization of hits to leads to clinical candidates. It is somewhat preferred that the candidate have some experience with solid phase synthesis and DNA-encoded libraries. The candidate will work closely with the rest of the chemistry team and head of chemistry.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Experience with solid phase synthesis
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to be a team player in a cross-functional environment.
Given the company’s size, anticipated growth and fast-paced environment, the organization requires a Protein Biochemist who is thoughtful, high energy and can partner with the broader organization to further enhance our next generation drug discovery capabilities.
She/he will exhibit the ability to work well under pressure to provide results in a short timeframe. The company is looking for a highly responsive, goal-oriented individual who will bring significant energy and drive to solve complex technical problems and help us achieve our mission to advance human health.
Part of Terray Therapeutics’ success is nurtured by a hands-on work environment where everyone is accountable, everyone is vested in a vision of excellence, and everyone actively takes part in the success of the business. Terray Therapeutics supports a positive work environment comprised of engaged employees who feel appreciated, recognized and free to be creative.
