Construction Scheduling Manager

Our client  is seeking candidates to lead their Scheduling & Project Controls services group in support of transportation (highway, bridge, and transit) and other infrastructure projects in Texas.

Roles and Responsibilities: Roles and responsibilities may include, but not be limited to performance and/or oversight of the following: 

  • Serve as a core Management Team member responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support strategic planning goals and objectives 
  • Assist in business development activities, including, but not limited to: 
  • Identifying and pursuing new opportunities in construction scheduling and related fields as well as potential services in the future 
  • Attending networking meetings and events 
  • Developing and reviewing pursuit content, such as qualification writeups, question responses, proposals, and presentations 
  • Manage Scheduling & Project Controls Group, including but not limited to: 
  • Managing and supporting team members responsible for project delivery 
  • Developing, reviewing, and/or providing oversight of contracts and work authorizations, including oversight of subconsultants required for project delivery 
  • Assisting in recruiting and hiring additional personnel 
  • Participating in employee reviews, training plans, and other activities to support team members’ growth and development and address any critical personnel needs/issues 
    • Provide occasional billable project support and perform quality control review for client deliverables as needed, and mentoring junior staff in these efforts  
    • Interact directly with internal and external clients to understand client and/or project needs and opportunities 
    • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas, Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification is preferred
  • At least 8+ years of experience performing project scheduling, project controls, and/or construction management duties for transportation, utility, oil and gas, building/architectural, or other infrastructure projects
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and coordination skills

Travel Requirements: <25% to attend project meetings and conferences at various locations throughout Texas.
