Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage and grow the firms MEP department with staff in Dallas TX . Ideal candidate would have work experience in various building types i.e. Healthcare, Higher Education, Assisted Living and K-12. The Engineer takes ownership of the
completeness, accuracy and deadlines of the projects working in conjunction with a technical team consisting of PE’s, EITs, designers and drafters. As the team leader you will also be responsible for the professional growth of your team. Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, quality control and marketing and business development support.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Position requires good leadership and motivational skills, solid technical background, good organizational skills, attention to detail, quality control, client interaction and representation.
- Ability to act independently with minimal direct oversight while managing MEP engineering staff.
- Provide planning, staffing, scheduling, and budget management on projects.
- Ability to handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
- Assist in Business Development in pursuing new work including participation in client presentations.
- Interact with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to review, define, and design to meet customer requirements
Education Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Credentials P.E. certification required
Essential Qualifications
· 10 -15 years of experience for the Design of building Mechanical systems for various building types. Inpatient Healthcare design and Higher ED experience is required
· Superior written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in Revit is strongly desired.
· Committed to continuous learning and staying abreast of developments in the field.
· Familiarity with regulatory standards
· Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and problem solving abilities
· Ability to work in a fast paced team oriented environment
· Must be highly organized and self-motivated
· Willing to adapt as necessary to support changing business needs.
