Our client, a financial service provider, is seeking a next-level Director of Sales.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance and development of all sales team members. The Sales Director will have direct responsibility for achieving all revenue and operating expense budgets and will have shared responsibility for meeting profitability budgets.
The sales director will be building from scratch a world-class sales team and must be an effective coach. The candidate will also flawlessly execute the sales strategy, management process and ensure that the company’s value proposition is being positioned with the company customers in a way that resonates and converts to business with them.
Responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining a highly talented sales team that drives consistent performance every month and year.
- Overseeing and being ultimately responsible for the talent and development of the sales team
- Managing and building relationships with a wide variety of technology and service providers
- Providing guidance and direction to the sales team in regard to pricing and profitability
- Holding sales team accountable for achieving sales plans, building a strong base of customers, and ensuring profitable sales growth annually
- Building daily, weekly, and monthly strategic plans and aligning them with the annual strategic plan, aligning the sales team with the plan, execution of the plan, and checking and adjusting the plan and its execution along the way to ensure the team is maximizing results
- Understanding the market including the competitive landscape, customers’ channels, and economic conditions. Checking and adjusting the strategic plan based on these factors are critical to achieving success
- Identifying, prospecting, and closing new and existing business opportunities
- Developing and completing sales campaigns
- Responding to customer inquiries quickly and prioritizing activities with prospects at different stages in the sales process
- Utilizing Sales Software System to track and report account activity accurately and in a timely manner
- Overseeing customer relationships from prospect through event execution
- Working collaboratively with cross-functional departments
- Proffering solutions to hard problems, making sound decisions on how to roll out new systems and processes in an iterative manner
- Prioritizing among competing opportunities and articulating your point of view on priorities
- Leading teams and working cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environment
- Staying informed on industry trends
- Meeting and exceeding individual and team sales targets
Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a director of sales in the financial industry or similar service-based industries
- Deep sales management skillset including: drafting sales strategy, hiring onboarding and managing sales team, sales quotas, pipeline management, objection handling, coaching team members, and CRM experience
- Ability to operate independently, self-starter, and strong closer
- Demonstrated track record of managing sales processes from prospecting, selling, negotiation, and closing deals
- Ability to develop new business and retain an existing one
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to gather and analyze data sets including the use of basic statistical concepts), and to interpret them to make business decisions
- Ability to close sales within a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Agility and ability to pivot and prioritize different projects
- Ability to manage time and resources optimally
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Salary: $200K + Commissions
Compensation: $200,000.00
