We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Document Control & Scope Manager to support construction operations team.

This role is responsible for reviewing final architectural plans and shop drawings from a construction perspective, generating and managing RFIs, coordinating responses and revisions, and creating detailed scope-of-work documents and bid-level breakdowns for project execution.

The ideal candidate understands construction workflows, can read and interpret drawings, and serves as the technical bridge between architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.

This role is not design. It is focused on reviewing drawings, reviewing subcontractor proposals, leveling bids, preparing scopes of work, and managing RFIs throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review final architectural plans, engineering drawings, and shop drawings
  • Analyze drawings from a construction execution perspective to identify gaps, conflicts, or clarifications needed
  • Ensure drawings are complete, coordinated, and buildable before field execution
  • Draft, submit, track, and manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to obtain responses
  • Review RFI responses and identify resulting scope, cost, or schedule impacts
  • Communicate approved changes clearly to internal teams and subcontractors
  • Create detailed scope-of-work sheets outlining exactly what needs to be executed on site
  • Break scopes down by trade, phase, and responsibility
  • Ensure scopes align with drawings, specifications, and RFI outcomes
  • Prepare bid-level scope packages for subcontractors
  • Assist in leveling bids and identifying scope gaps or overlaps
  • Support pre-construction and estimating teams with technical documentation
  • Act as a central point of coordination between architecture, engineering, construction, and operations teams
  • Ensure all drawing revisions, RFIs, and scope changes are properly documented and distributed
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, RFIs, and scope documents

Qualifications:

  • 3–7+ years experience in construction, pre-construction, or technical coordination
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
  • Hands-on experience creating and managing RFIs
  • Experience preparing scopes of work and supporting bid processes
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Salary:
$140K




Compensation: $140,000
