Our client, a financial services provider for skilled nursing facilities, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager with expertise in managing end-to-end accounts payable operations and supporting fiscal controls within a healthcare finance environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing AP team, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, supporting audits and financial reporting, and strengthening internal processes for seamless accounts payable execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Accounts Payable team members to ensure peak performance and professional development.
  • Oversee all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing in line with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison between the Accounts Payable and Cash Management departments to align cash flow timing with payment schedules.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and summaries for senior management to support budgeting and fiscal planning.
  • Support the Controller in audit preparations, year-end financials, and tax return documentation by delivering detailed schedules and backups.
  • Finalize and reconcile monthly purchase journals to ensure accurate general ledger entries.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, external vendors, and clients to support the timely resolution of payment-related issues.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, and federal, state, and company-specific regulations in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in accounts payable or a finance-related role, preferably in healthcare or financial services.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including fluency with VLOOKUP and SUMIF, to support accurate data handling and reporting.
  • Deep understanding of AP procedures, fiscal controls, and collaboration with cash management teams.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to coach and inspire team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal coordination and external vendor relations.
  • Proven ability to analyze processes and propose improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Experience supporting financial audits and year-end close processes in a regulated environment.
