Our client, a nonprofit organization supporting children and families facing medical challenges, is seeking a compassionate and highly organized Program Manager to lead their after-school program, volunteer coordination efforts, and special events.

The ideal candidate will oversee the planning and implementation of engaging programs for children, manage volunteer operations, and ensure every event and activity is meaningful, inclusive, and runs smoothly from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor the Volunteer Coordinator, providing direction, support, and performance feedback aligned with annual goals.
  • Lead the delivery of the after-school program, ensuring a blend of academic support, creative enrichment, and logistical coordination, including transportation and safety.
  • Ensure volunteers are properly recruited, trained, and deployed across i-Shine programs, hospital/home visits, and special events.
  • Track and analyze volunteer and program data using Salesforce to improve impact and ensure accountability.
  • Plan and execute seasonal trips and celebrations, including transportation, meals, medical accommodations, and entertainment.
  • Develop year-round programming that rotates themes, includes hands-on projects, and introduces special guests or workshops.
  • Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and partners to ensure smooth execution of events and community engagement.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership, providing reports and insights while assisting with strategic initiatives and growth planning.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in youth programming, volunteer management, or event coordination, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused setting.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with families, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative, age-appropriate activities and engaging group programming.
  • Experience coordinating logistics such as transportation, meals, and accommodations for youth-focused events.
  • Proficiency with data tracking systems like Salesforce, including volunteer hour tracking and reporting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in education, nonprofit management, or event planning is a plus.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and mission-aligned with a commitment to supporting children and families throughout the year.

Salary: $90K




Compensation: $90,000.00
