Our client, a real estate company is looking to hire a Dept of Buildings Compliance specialist.

The Dept of Buildings Compliance specialist is responsible for managing and resolving property violations issued by the New York City Department of Buildings and other regulatory agencies. This role ensures all violations are reviewed, addressed, and closed in compliance with city regulations.

The specialist will coordinate repairs, maintain accurate documentation, and serve as the primary liaison between the property management company and regulatory authorities. This position works closely with the Field Manager to ensure timely and accurate execution of corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review all property violations received from Dept of Buildings and other agencies.
  • Maintain an organized log of open and resolved violations.
  • Work with maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely repairs and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Field Manager to verify that repairs meet NYC building codes and compliance standards.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation to Dept of Buildings and other agencies to confirm violation resolution.
  • Maintain detailed records of all communications, repairs, and compliance actions.
  • Communicate with Dept of Buildings inspectors and officials regarding violation status and compliance updates.
  • Stay informed about changes in NYC building codes and compliance requirements.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive strategies to reduce future violations.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in property management, expediting, compliance, or building operations.
  • Familiarity with NYC Department of Buildings regulations and processes.
  • Knowledge of NYC building codes and violation resolution procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to compliance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.

Salary:
$80K




Compensation: $80,000
