Our client, a nonprofit organization serving Chassidish families in crisis, is seeking a relationship-driven Volunteer Manager with experience in volunteer recruitment, community engagement, and program coordination.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers, building strong community partnerships, and executing impactful events and appreciation programs that ensure Chassidish children and families facing illness receive compassionate and culturally aligned support.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead volunteer recruitment events in key Chassidic communities, including Williamsburg, Boro Park, Monsey, and Monroe, to build a strong and engaged volunteer network.
- Onboard new volunteers, ensuring they receive appropriate orientation on program expectations, cultural sensitivity, and community-specific guidelines.
- Match volunteers with families and programs based on skills, availability, and family needs, in coordination with internal team members.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with volunteers, providing regular check-ins and support to enhance engagement and retention.
- Organize and execute volunteer appreciation initiatives, including events, milestone recognitions, and branded swag distribution.
- Develop partnerships with schools, community groups, and businesses to expand the volunteer pipeline and secure donated goods and services.
- Plan and coordinate large-scale events, including Shabbatons and family celebrations, ensuring logistical needs like transportation, meals, and accommodations are met.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and program data in Salesforce and support administrative tasks related to communications and reporting.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in volunteer management, community programming, or a related field, ideally within culturally sensitive or faith-based communities.
- Proven ability to recruit, onboard, and engage volunteers effectively, with experience planning appreciation and retention efforts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of balancing multiple ongoing programs and events.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a warm, approachable style suited for building trust within the Chassidish community.
- Flexibility and dedication to supporting seasonal events, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners to coordinate resources, transportation, and logistics.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for tracking volunteers and program engagement is strongly preferred.

Salary: $90K
Compensation: $90,000.00
