Our client, a real estate management firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller with expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within the real estate industry.

The ideal candidate will support the CFO in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, managing audits, and optimizing financial controls to support the firm’s growth. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of real estate financial management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes to help drive strategic financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist in financial risk management strategies.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to improve financial efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Assist with real estate asset management financial reporting, tracking property performance and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in real estate or property management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations related to real estate.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a real estate environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Salary: $175K




Compensation: $175,000.00
