Our client, a manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment, is seeking a VP of Finance.

The VP of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) supports the organization to achieve strategic and financial goals. This role will lead the FP&A function, which is responsible for all planning processes, including annual planning, monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts, and multi-year plans. The role will also have responsibility over capital allocation criteria setting and will partner with the appropriate business leaders to drive effective investment decisions.

This is a highly visible strategic role which requires developing positive relationships across the entire organization with interaction with company leaders across geographies and functional groups to develop and maintain our strategic plans, investments, and business results. Excellent analytical, communications skills, and energetic can-do attitude will be instrumental in helping our business scale. This role requires process and systems thinking and passion for operational excellence. This role will lead and collaborate with other leaders to streamline our annual planning process and drive sophistication, speed, and accuracy around our monthly, quarterly, yearly, and multi-year forecasting processes. All of these expectations require established rigor around capital allocation discussions, including, but not limited to, areas of M&A and Corporate Development.

Responsibilities:

FP&A Leadership

  • Oversee company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis and management reporting
  • Partner with stakeholders across departments to align forecasts with business objectives

Manufacturing Cost and Profitability Analysis

  • Develop and refine cost models and reports that accurately reflect cost drivers, variable vs. fixed costs, and product-line profitability
  • Perform deep dives into contribution margin, breakeven analysis, and other critical manufacturing metrics
  • Provide actionable recommendations to optimize inventory, production processes, and overall cost structure

Roadmap Management and Tracking

  • Translate the transformation financial model into a tangible roadmap with milestones, initiatives, and financial targets
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify when specific initiatives should drive cost savings or revenue improvements
  • Implement processes to track ongoing performance against the roadmap (e.g., monthly or quarterly check-ins, KPI dashboards)

Systems and Process Improvement

  • Evaluate current data collection and financial systems for gaps; recommend and implement improvements or new tools where needed
  • Partner with IT to design workflows that ensure accurate and timely flow of financial data (e.g., ERP integration)
  • Lead or support system implementations/upgrades to enhance reporting accuracy and real-time analytics

Strategic Business Partner and Problem-Solver

  • Support leadership in strategic decision-making (e.g., pricing strategies, capital investments, expansion plans) using robust financial analysis
  • Identify inefficiencies in current processes and propose creative solutions that streamline data gathering and reporting
  • Communicate insights effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, adapting presentation style to your audience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as accounting, finance, or mathematics. CPA, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial analysis experience including management reporting responsibilities, forecasting/budgeting, and variety of analytical projects with a particular focus on financial modeling
  • Process driven, attentive to detail and ability to handle multiples projects in fast-paced environment.
  • Competent with manual and automated accounting systems; previous data warehousing and reporting tool experience (SAP, SAS, Cognos).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized
  • Participative management style.
  • Effective collaborator at all levels.

Salary: $200K




Compensation: $200,000.00
