This is a rare opportunity – it has the breadth to be interesting combined with the support to ensure you can remain focused and are not spread too thin! You’ll lead formulation optimization efforts on key new silicone-based products, as well as overall new product development responsibility. You will also be involved in the design of a new and expanded lab. You’ll directly lead a small team at the Central NJ R&D location, but also be hands-on at the bench; and you will work closely with the QA Director to provide support for manufacturing at 4 locations across the US. Specific Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead new product development activities across all product lines
  • Review existing formulations and regulatory risks, develop updated formulations as needed
  • Evaluate new raw materials and be a key contact for raw materials suppliers
  • Evaluate current testing methods (in-house and 3rd party) and recommend additional resources
  • Support QA across all plants

The Profile:

  • BS in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or similar required. Advanced degree very helpful
  • 10+ years industrial (i.e. non-academic) experience in liquid coatings formulation is REQUIRED
  • Specific experience with exterior use silicone and waterborne acrylic technologies is strongly preferred
  • Experience with urethane (including spray foam), liquid air barriers, STPE, bituminous roof coatings, adhesives, fire resistant and corrosion prevention products, and low VOC technology are all highly desirable
  • Familiarity with ASTM, UL, and FM Specifications and Testing requirements is REQUIRED
  • Proven success in new product development, scale up and commercialization is REQUIRED
  • Adaptable, flexible – you’re comfortable with multiple projects and have a “Do what it takes” attitude
  • Focused, well organized and highly self motivated
  • You enjoy a balanced combination of managing existing products/product improvements, and developing new products
  • You’re a motivational leader who can create engagement across multiple locations, and proactively support the development of your team; but you’re still hands-on enough that you enjoy spending part of your time in the lab
  • Strong project management and leadership skills - you enjoy spearheading initiatives and taking ownership of projects to drive them to a successful conclusion



Compensation: $130,000+
