The Opportunity:

Specific Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Become expert in the Company’s current technologies, formulations and applications
  • Respond to technical inquiries from customers, distributors and prospects and provide effective diagnosis, insights and support (primarily over the phone) to solve problems and/or inform the sales process
  • Train non-technical staff in the Communications department to help them better understand the Company’s products and effectively assist customers
  • Create simple training videos, written materials and other content for resellers to enhance their ability to represent the Company’s products effectively
  • Work closely with Production on day to day QA/QC issues and support ongoing manufacturing process improvement
  • Field inquiries regarding new raw material options; perform basic experiments and testing to assess suitability

The Profile:

  • BS in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or similar is REQUIRED. Advanced degree helpful but real-world industrial experience is key.
  • 5+ years industrial (i.e.non academic) experience in liquid coatings formulation, QA/QC including direct customer-facing responsibility for phone-based technical service and support – this is REQIURED and is the core requirement for the role
  • Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills are essential – you’re comfortable creating original content for training and customer support as well as editing/managing existing resources
  • Adaptable, flexible, comfortable in a small company with a “Do what it takes” attitude
  • Strong project management skills - you enjoy spearheading initiatives and taking ownership of projects to drive them to a successful conclusion
  • Cheerful, friendly disposition with a service focus – you understand and enjoy the importance of your role as a highly visible ambassador for the company
  • Local to the Boston area or willing to relocate at your own expense



Compensation: $80,000+
