Specific Responsibilities
Assess the current HR landscape across the Group, consult with HR teams and business leaders and ensure solid HR structure, policies and programs are place at each company; work to standardize policies and handbooks across entire Group where appropriate, while recognizing individual businesses’ different needs
Identify immediate legal and compliance issues which need addressed. Consult with Legal Counsel as appropriate.
Serve as resource providing counsel and guidance to HR team and Business Leaders regarding HR issues, including guidance on investigations and complex employee relations issues
Identify best practices and opportunities to standardize across the Group. Explore opportunities to utilize various modules in Oracle as a Group
Work with Director of Leadership Development to strategically deploy training and development programs to ensure investment in developing the right people and that the initiatives are aligned with business needs
Participate in selection of HR hires within the group
Lead and coordinate the HR team to address business issues, monitor progress on initiatives, and provide professional development opportunities for the HR staff
Serve as HR contact to Group-level employees
Supervise Payroll Manager and work toward improving efficiency of payroll processing across Group
Collaborate with corporate Compliance department to ensure that compliance training requirements are met and training plans are in place
The Profile
Bachelor’s degree required: MBA preferred but real-world experience is most important
HR certification preferred
8+ years direct HR generalist experience
Proven success supporting multiple stakeholders in small and mid-size businesses and delivering measurable ROI to the business from the HR function
A “do what it takes” willingness and ability to function both strategically and at the granular level as needed to support the businesses within the Group
Meaningful experience with use of an HRIS system
You’ve worked through the complexities of HR policy standardization across different business types, and you understand what works and what doesn’t
Highly self-motivated with exceptional ability to prioritize and execute: you take initiative to identify and follow through on important projects and initiatives
Collaborative: you pro-actively engage stakeholders at all levels, communicate effectively and build trust
