This is a tremendous opportunity to make an impact on the business following acquisitions, with others planned in the future. This role will support continued company growth through introduction of operational discipline and best practices, upgraded people management, and capacity expansions.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Oversee and work closely with the three site leaders to meet the all orders and provide high service level to customers
  • Create and regularly update the Strategic Plan for Operations & Manufacturing, including appropriate goals and accountabilities
  • Lead productivity improvement initiatives to reduce/eliminate production bottlenecks, establish and implement measurement of Performance KPIs
  • Support launch of new products
  • Lead ongoing process improvement/cost reduction projects
  • Oversee Supply Chain and Inventory Control
  • Oversee Facilities and Equipment Management
  • Evaluate, recommend and manage Capex projects including upgrade and installation of essential new equipment to support expansion
  • Interface with Sales, Technology, Customer Service, Marketing and Finance
  • Based in Buffalo, NY with periodic travel to other locations


The Profile:

  • BS in Operations, Engineering or similar required.
  • 10+ years industrial (i.e. non-academic) experience in batch manufacturing of formulated products (e.g. coatings, cosmetics, food)
  • Meaningful manufacturing leadership experience (Non-union) including people management and successful introduction of systems (not just managing existing processes). Strong ability to manage remotely.
  • Experience introducing Lean concepts and consistent process to manufacturing to enable scalable growth, and develop beyond the focus on daily production – you have experience leading change resulting in measurable improvement while maintaining a collaborative atmosphere
  • Small/midsize/PE company experience
  • Strong strategic thinking ability
  • Motivational leader who can create strong relationships, engagement across multiple locations, and proactively support the development of your team
  • Proven strong project management skills – keeping important initiatives on track and completed on time
  • Procurement experience is an advantage
