Senior Operational Accountant - Hybrid (3 days in office)
Growing medium sized company in Denver Inner West (free parking) is seeking a Senior Operational Accountant. Outstanding reputation and listed as a Top Workplace.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for month-end close processes related to internal reporting, financial analysis, financial reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually. This person will laise heavily with the operational staff
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare Internal Reporting
- Support external audit requests
- Assist with preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Monitor and analyze reports, research financial variances from budget and prior year and provide explanations for such variances
- Read contracts and implement into accounting
- Identify areas for improvement and automation, and implement improvements
- Assist in internal controls implementation and compliance
- Regularly use Excel spreadsheets, database and word processing software, and periodically learn new software programs
- Work with internal departments to accomplish individual, departmental and company goals
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline
- Experience/Specific Knowledge:skills, verbal and written.
- Capable of working independently and with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
