SKILLSET:
The candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-team environment. Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell. Candidate must be familiar with rule-based automation engines or workflow systems (e.g., Jira Automation, Microsoft Power Automate, GitHub Actions, IFTTT-style logic). Candidate must have a strong understanding of structured logic (if/then, triggers, conditions, transitions).
The candidate will possess and maintain the required skills to include, but not limited to:
Someone with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience developing automation solutions and writing scripts for web-based platforms such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Salesforce, GitLab, SharePoint, or Zendesk. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of scripting languages including Groovy, JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell, and be comfortable designing
and implementing rule-based automation logic within systems like Jira Automation, Microsoft Power Automate, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
A strong understanding of structured logic—such as if/then statements, triggers, conditions, and transitions—is essential, as is the ability to write, test, and validate scripts in sandbox or staging environments prior to deployment. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness and aptitude to learn and apply tools like ScriptRunner for Jira and Confluence, as well as Atlassian REST APIs to expand platform functionality.
Ideal applicants will have prior experience configuring Jira or Confluence, especially in a power user or administrator capacity, and should be familiar with REST APIs for integration and data retrieval. Familiarity with object schema modeling tools such as Jira Assets/Insight or other CMDB systems, along with exposure to Atlassian workflows, issue types, and permission schemes, will be highly beneficial. A working understanding of version control systems like Git and experience working with JSON or YAML configuration formats is also desirable.
Additional experience that would be considered a plus includes building post-functions, event listeners, or scheduled jobs on platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, or Azure. Familiarity with plugin or module ecosystems like WordPress, VS Code, or Salesforce AppExchange is also advantageous. Candidates who have built dynamic forms with conditional logic based on user input or roles, and those who have contributed internal documentation or user training related to custom automation, will stand out in this role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow their expertise in enterprise automation and platform development within a collaborative and evolving technical environment.
