Job Title: RN Manager of Labor & Delivery

Location: Piedmont Walton - Monroe, GA

Department: Labor & Delivery

Reports To: Director of Women's Services

Position Summary: The RN Manager of Labor & Delivery is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining patient safety, and managing staff performance. The manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Women's Services and other healthcare professionals to provide leadership, direction, and administrative support. The RN Manager will also develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the overall function of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision:
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff in the Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring that all patient care is provided according to hospital policies, procedures, and standards. 
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and patient-centered care.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to nursing staff, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Patient Care Management:
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to all patients in the Labor & Delivery unit.
  • Monitor patient care to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Address patient care issues and concerns promptly, providing resolutions that prioritize patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Manage departmental budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and optimize resource utilization.
  • Quality Improvement & Compliance:
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
  • Participate in risk management activities and develop strategies to minimize risks to patients and staff.
  • Education & Staff Development:
  • Identify educational needs of staff and coordinate ongoing training and development programs.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities for the nursing team.
  • Keep current with developments in nursing and obstetric care, integrating evidence-based practices into the unit.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in Labor & Delivery.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, primarily day shifts with some variability based on department needs.
  • May require on-call duties, evening, and weekend work.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, and lifting patients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Ability to Relocate:

  • Monroe, GA: Relocate with an employer provided relocation package (Preferred)
