Description
Overview of position:
Seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work in the El Paso, TX area. A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate design, engineering, coordination, synchronization, and integration efforts and foster a viable Joint and Coalition Network sufficient to enable and conduct Army Warfighting Assessments
- Assist with planning efforts for the Joint and Coalition Network
- Must be unique and tailored to the Concepts and Capabilities under evaluation at the JWA event for that year and include network engineering and integration efforts for all systems and equipment as directed in guidance documents such as the JWA EXORD and JWA admin order
- Incorporate Network and Communications and Information Systems (CIS) standards in support of the Mission Partner Environment (MPE) and Joint Information Environment (JIE). The work performed within the PWS will be in accordance with the standards published based on U.S. DOD, NATO, and Joint current drafts in order to integrate future force development and advance Joint and Coalition interoperability between the U.S. and its partners
- Coordinate tasks with ASA-ALT, PEO-C3T, FORSCOM, and other supporting agencies, to include multiple National Contributing Mission Partners (NCMPs)
- Attend all meetings necessary to produce the Joint and Coalition Network such as Joint Coalition Integrated Planning Team (IPT) working groups, NID Senior Signal Leaders Updates, and multiple Work Groups
- Generate bi-weekly or on order depictions of the JWA Joint and Coalition Network as it matures through the planning and preparation phases
- Prepare an Assessment Plan to assist with the preparation of the Joint and Coalition Network Assessment; due within 14 days from the conclusion of each JWA event
- Prepare briefs and slides as necessary to convey the Joint and Coalition Network current configuration, describing latest changes, and work under development that might impact the network planning or JWA event communications ability, and clearly identify areas of risk to participant Command and Control and / or Mission Command capabilities
- Facilitate design, engineering, and integration effort and foster a viable NIE Test Network sufficient to enable the conduct of Network Integration Evaluations (tests)
- Assist with all required planning efforts to produce the NIE test network with a focus on improving effective joint unit involvement
- Assist in the development and verification of the NIE strategic and operational networks and shall incorporate the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) test network architecture in support of Army, Joint and partner Command and Control, Mission Command and communications network technologies. Contractor shall facilitate the execution of Data Collection, Reduction and Analysis (DRCA) requirements
- Attend all meetings necessary to produce the required NIE Test Network ICW stakeholders such as Army Evaluation Test Command (ATEC) / Operational Test Command (OTC), Systems of Systems Engineering and Integration (SOSE&I), CIO G6, HQDA G3/5/7, and other supporting agencies. Purpose is to articulate and ensure the network design and planning are feasible and integrated with operational, exercise, cyber, EW, and general scenario planning
- Generate bi-weekly or on order depictions of the NIE Test Network as it matures through the planning and preparation phases
- May be required to contribute to post-NIE DOTMLPF-P EXSUM or report discussions concerning a variety of technical communications system topics such as the communications systems performance, with recommendations to proceed, defer or stop production on specific platforms or systems
- Other support duties as needed/directed
Qualifications
Experience/Skills:
- Eight (8) years Network engineering experience
- Experience building/supporting joint and multinational networks, linking simulations into networks
- Knowledge and technical expertise to support highly specialized network requirements based on non-standard and changing operational environments
- Provides network analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on complex problems. Expert using architecture and typology software, hardware and networks, including LANS, WANS and telecommunications systems, their components and associated protocols and standards
Education:
- BS in Information Technology or related field or +4 years' experience
Certifications:
- IAT I is required
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or other network certification
Clearance:
- Active Secret Security Clearance is required
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested.
