Business Development Manager

Our client is looking to expand their business with a driven and proactive Business Development Manager!  They're offering great pay and commission for someone who can manage their current book of business and drive sales in new markets. 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceeds assigned revenue and target metric objectives within the assigned territory.
  • Close new business and foster existing customer relationships
  • Perform an initial assessment of customer needs and provide packaging and logistic services to meet those needs.
  • Build business alignment and relationships by knowing the customer, their industry, and specific business needs (both short and long-term)
  • Negotiate business agreements including price agreement terms and conditions

Qualifications required:

  • Obtain customer documents necessary to properly facilitate order processing, booking, shipment, installation, acceptance, invoicing, and payment
  • Applies a proactive, steadfast approach to engaging customers, following up with customers, and securing meetings both face-to-face and online
  • Maintaining awareness of the competitor’s sales efforts and programs in the territory, working with the sales team and the Vice President of Sales, evaluating appropriate competitive strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex customer problems and sell complex solutions
  • Secure and maintain confidence in the customer by resolving customer issues, and inquiries and providing additional insight in a timely and encouraging manner 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, or Engineering) or equivalent experience
  • 3 + years working in full-cycle sales (inside sales, outside sales, and closing)
  • 2 + years of Sales Experience in a Project Manager capacity or selling to industrial customers
  • Experience working in the Packaging industry is considered an asset
