Reliability Engineer / Maintenance Improvement Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Reliability Engineer to join our maintenance team. This role is essential in driving equipment reliability, uptime, and efficiency across the plant. You’ll lead efforts to reduce downtime, optimize preventive maintenance, and implement innovative solutions to improve machinery and operational performance.
Primary Objective
Improve overall plant uptime and machinery efficiency by analyzing failures, enhancing maintenance strategies, and applying continuous improvement methodologies across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate machine failures and apply root cause analysis to implement long-term corrective actions
Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify work practices that reduce equipment failures
Develop, implement, and refine preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Lead best practices for lubrication management, including correct selection and storage
Analyze downtime trends and performance data to identify areas for improvement
Provide training and mentoring to the maintenance team to elevate technical capabilities
Redesign and modify equipment or components to enhance reliability and reduce costs
Use CMMS (Maximo) to manage lubrication and maintenance schedules
Plan and support execution of both scheduled and emergency maintenance activities
Apply condition-monitoring technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis)
Drive site-wide efficiency by identifying and leading process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
Support special projects and other tasks as required
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Background in industrial manufacturing equipment or maintenance trades experience preferred
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with ability to present technical data clearly
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Maximo or similar CMMS software
Familiarity with condition monitoring tools and predictive maintenance technologies
Proven self-starter with a collaborative mindset and effective communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze, adapt, and solve problems in a dynamic plant environment
