A well-established, multi-disciplined consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineer Project Manager to join a growing team of engineers, designers, planners, and surveyors. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated professional with experience in both private land development and municipal infrastructure projects who’s ready to lead impactful work, support clients, and mentor junior staff.
What You’ll Do
Project & Design ManagementLead and manage the design and delivery of private land development and municipal infrastructure projects.
Prepare and oversee site planning tasks such as sketch/yield plans, layout, grading, utility design, roadway alignment, and stormwater management/BMP integration.
Perform site feasibility studies, due diligence, zoning and regulatory research for both private and public-sector clients.
Coordinate with in-house teams—engineers, planners, landscape architects, and CAD technicians—to produce high-quality, constructible plans.
Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget through all phases of development and municipal review.
Review and approve plans, reports, specifications, and supporting technical documents.
Serve as a point of contact for private clients and municipal stakeholders, ensuring project satisfaction and alignment with regulations.
Support public meetings and represent projects through public testimony before planning and zoning boards or municipal governing bodies.
Guide and mentor junior engineers and technical team members.
Foster a team culture that emphasizes learning, collaboration, and high standards of technical excellence.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New Jersey (required)
Additional certifications such as CME, CFM, or PP (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience in civil/site design for private development and/or municipal projects
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required); GIS experience a plus
Familiarity with local, county, and state permitting processes and public agency coordination
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience presenting at public meetings or board hearings (preferred)
