Logistics Manager
Mission:
Oversee all logistics operations—including transportation, inventory, and warehouse management—to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of materials and products. Provide strategic direction and leadership to the logistics team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule logistics to support production and on-time customer deliveries.
Supervise transportation operations, ensuring timely inbound and outbound shipments.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with materials and warehouse teams to maintain accuracy and availability.
Lead daily team meetings to communicate logistics updates and address any operational concerns.
Track logistics performance using key metrics and implement improvements where needed.
Ensure compliance with relevant transportation and safety regulations.
Coordinate with external partners, including suppliers and carriers, to resolve delivery issues and optimize processes.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in logistics and transportation.
Escalate any supply continuity risks in accordance with internal procedures.
Additional Duties:
Lead quarterly physical inventory counts and ongoing cycle counting processes.
Act as the primary contact during logistics audits and compliance reviews.
Promote a workplace culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintain professional communication with management, vendors, and internal teams.
Carry out job duties safely, efficiently, and as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred (high school diploma or GED required).
5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles.
Background in a manufacturing or automotive environment is a plus.
Proficiency with logistics systems, ERP platforms, and transportation scheduling.
Demonstrated leadership experience with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communicator with strong organizational skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Safety glasses required when on the production floor.
Must be able to navigate a manufacturing environment, including walking, bending, reaching, and wearing appropriate PPE.
Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
